When I opened my private psychiatry practice, I made a decision to accept private-pay only. This means I accept payment by cash, Venmo or PayPal. More importantly, it means I do not accept or bill insurance.

The initial intake is not time-bound, it can be anywhere from 1-2hrs based on your availability. This kind of flexibility in my service is because of no insurance restrictions as I don't feel the pressure to maximize the number of patients I see. ​​ Each of my patients gets individualized service as each of my patients are unique individuals and not a diagnostic code to befit in insurance paradigm. ​ The psychiatric diagnostic interview is $300 and has to be paid before the appointment. ​ Follow-up appointments can be booked as soon as 1 week, based on our mutual discussion and will be charged $150. ​ Invoice will be generated and provided to the patient if they want to bill their insurance company.
